To be the leading cybersecurity hub in Palestine and a recognized center of excellence regionally, producing highly skilled professionals and impactful research that safeguards the digital future and drives innovation in cybersecurity.
Mission:
To empower students with cutting-edge cybersecurity knowledge, practical skills, and ethical awareness through comprehensive education, hands-on training, and collaborative research. We aim to foster strong partnerships with industry, government, and academia to advance cybersecurity practices, address real-world challenges, and cultivate the next generation of cybersecurity leaders.
Goals:
1. Build a premier cybersecurity program that aligns with global standards, regional needs, and evolving threats.
2. Strengthen partnerships with industry, government, and academia to drive curriculum relevance, research impact, and career opportunities.
3. Empower faculty and students through mentorship, resources, and ethical leadership development.
Key Activities:
1. Curriculum Leadership: Oversee cutting-edge program design, ensuring alignment with industry demands and teaching excellence. Incorporate current industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker, CISSP) into the curriculum where appropriate.
2. Strategic Partnerships: Working on secure internships, joint research projects, and guest experts through collaborations with tech leaders and agencies.
3. Faculty & Student Support: Mentor faculty in teaching/research and guide students with career services, labs, and competitions. Develop scenario-based exercises and capture-the-flag (CTF) competitions to enhance problem-solving and teamwork skills.
4. Resource Development: Working on secure funding, build advanced labs, and maintain tools for hands-on learning and innovation.
5. Quality Assurance: Pursue accreditations and uphold standards to ensure program credibility and global competitiveness.
6. Continuous Improvement: Regularly assess and adapt strategies to meet university goals and emerging cybersecurity challenges.
What the Unit Needs Most:
